Last Friday night, The Woodman was graced with one of south Scotland’s
finest Folk entertainers. Hailing from the highest village in Scotland, Wanlockhead in Dumfries and Galloway, Dave Gibb gave us a generous taster from his broad musical repertoire, frequently laced with some very amusing patter, banter and repartee. An accomplished guitar player and an excellent singer song writer, Dave has a passion for the historical and this is reflected in many of his songs. Also his wonderful sense of humour shined through with original amusing songs, such as the ‘2am Fish Supper’ and ‘The night of the fiery mitts at the Wanlockhead Inn’. Further information on Dave and his gigs can be gleaned from his web site: http://www.davegibb.force9.co.uk/ An excellent evening was had by all and I very much look forward to Dave returning here again. |
