(Review taken from Derry's Facebook Post) What an absolute pleasure it was to welcome Fairfield, (Bob, Mac, and John), to The Woodman Folk Club. Super guitar playing, great harmony vocals and an outstandingly hilarious interaction between band and audience members, all combined to form an on-stage presence that was unique and remarkable. These guys are true performers, it’s in their blood, sweat and tears of laughter. Fairfield (BMJ) played a blinder and went down a storm. Thank you. What fun we all had! Opening the evening’s festivities were the superb Velvet Green. Every performance that Paul and Sue Matthews present is always well thought out, beautifully executed and thoroughly entertaining. Velvet Green have an extensive range of material and even have time to practice new songs and quickly include them into their excellent repertoire. Superb! Thanks also to MC Chris, (Irving), for skilfully steering the evening programme, whilst giving the impression of being totally mad. Oh, hang on a minute? Thanks to Mr Gary on the AV and to the much reduced Techy-up/Techy-down team, they stepped up to the mark and did a grand job. And finally, a massive thanks to the Ashwood Marina staff for keeping us all well-oiled!! |
