(Review taken from Derry's Facebook Post) Just when you think it can’t get any better, it does! Gary Edward Jones and Chris Lee treated us all to a cracking evenings entertainment. It goes without saying that Gary’s songs are superb and his playing is just spot-on, but coupled with Chris’ stylish Mandolin and intricate Bass guitar style it was simply outstanding. Gary’s rapport with the audience is always warm, witty, and fascinating, and having Chris there added nicely to the ambiance.They played and sang their hearts out, treating us to some excellent original material and of course some specially selected Paul Simon covers and beyond. We loved it! Nothing to Prove 3.0 opened the evenings entertainment, with a suitably varied mix of original, co-written songs and slightly irreverent but highly amusing covers that set the scene nicely for the forthcoming evening. MC Chris kept a steady hand on the wondering Mic and safely guided us all through the evening, in his usual charming, warm, friendly, and illustrative manner. Nice! Thanks to the Techy-up, Techy-down teams, the masters of all things AV, Mr Gary, and Mr John and of course the hard-working Ashwood Marina staff and regulars. |
