Jez Lowe showed us all why he is one of this country’s finest singer/songwriters’ and a master of live entertainment and also one of the busiest, most hard-working people on the folk scene today. Jez had the audience spellbound from the first note, through two superb sets and right up to the roars for more at the end. Each song rang out loud and clear, the story and the message resonating with the audience and the audience responding with absolute delight. The music and words were perfectly matched to each note, with subtle mood changes enhanced by the choice of, guitar, bouzouki, or mandolin. The accented vocal delivery was unmistakably Jez Lowe, but Jez Lowe at his very, very best. Superb!

Our very-own Velvet Green stood bravely in the spotlight to open the evening for us all. As ever, Sue and Paul appeared to pull a perfect set right out of the hat, but we know that hard work and talent take some working at to succeed and succeed they did! Great songs delivered with warmth and professionalism. Well done Velvet Green!

Massive thanks to the legendary Mr Bryn Phillips, (MC Bryn), the consummate showtime official, for MC’ing the evening with considerable grace and jocularity. More Mega-thanks go to our AV bod’s Mr John B and Mr Gary. Also, Giga-thanks to the Techy-up and Techy-down teams.

Last but definitely not least, thank you so much to the staff and regulars at The Ashwood Marina for their hard work and support.
