(Review taken from Derry's Facebook Post) This night was a real cracker! Vicky Swan & Jonny Dyer were on magnificent form and provided us all with a very special night to remember. Their whole show shone with skilful selections of a wide-ranging repertoire, delivered with enthusiastic relish, skilful musicianship, and hilarious patter. Yet another instrument was added to their formidable collection, this time in the form of a keyboard which Jonny played beautifully. Fantastic! Mega-thanks go out to our very own, uber-talented Amie Bain. It was Amie’s first support spot at the Woodman and she nailed it! Amie provided us with a superb half-hour of serene Harpistry and haunting recorder, melded with a sublime modernistic folk vocal style. Excellent! MC Bryn, was the man in-charge and as always, expertly navigated us through a stunning evening. |
