Newsletter August 2008

In our 38th year and stronger than ever

Hi Folks

First of all an apology for this newsletter being not only late but also not as colourful as is normal. As I'm sure a fair few of you know I managed to lose almost the whole of August with an unscheduled eight hour gig at a theatre in Russell's Hall Hospital. Many thanks to all of you who sent me get well soon messages and the sympathy messages sent to Kate!

I am well on the road to recovery and looking forward with great anticipation to the new season at The Woodman. We start on Friday 5th September with a Singers Night and membership renewal. Membership fees are very important for the future of the club as they put a little bit of money into the kitty to help to pay for guests throughout the early season. The advantage to you, of course, is that you get a discounted admission price each time you visit us.

Following the opening night we go full throttle into a spectacular array of guests that would grace any folk club in the country.

12th September. Bob Fox
19th September. John Richards Band
26th September. Bram Taylor
3rd October. Singers Night
10th October. Vin Garbutt.
17th October. Anthony John Clarke

This is just a taster of things to come!

Many thanks for your support and we will look forward to seeing you all soon.
