In our 39th year and stronger than ever

Hi Folks

Many, many years ago in a land far away someone suggested that Christmas should be a time of peace and goodwill to all mankind. Then someone said, “Why don’t we put on some entertainment”. Discussions took place and it was decided that each December an annual festival should be held and that it should be known as

“THE WOODMAN CHRISTMAS PARTY AND PANTOMIME”

This years Christmas Party will be held on Friday the 11th December. Our guests this year are, once again, the incredibly talented trio “FAIRFIELD” This band is, without doubt, a legend in their own dining room.

These guys are just so talented they must have the XXX Factor coming out of every pore! As you would expect they will be taking a full and enthusiastic part in the evenings proceedings.

“FAIRFIELD” are stalwarts of the local folk scene they have a huge following and, thus far, they have managed to avoid being caught.

For those of you who don’t know, the format for the evening is that there will be contributions from the club’s resident artists, an extended spot from our guests, a sumptuous buffet and, of course, the pantomime.

So! Why is the pantomime such good fun? Is it slick? Is it glossy? Is it well rehearsed? The answer to all these questions is a resounding NO! Every expense has been spared to ensure that the fine tradition of The Woodman pantomime is maintained. The script (such as it is) is handed out a week before the event and the thespians are under threat of painful punishment if they make any attempt to learn their lines. Is it chaos? Is it mayhem? Is it side splittingly funny? The answer to all these questions is a resounding YES!

Have a quick look at some of the highlights from previous years.

2005 Goldilocks & The Three Bears

2006 Snow White & The Several Dwarfs.

2007 Cinderella

2008 Dick Whittington

So! What’s the pantomime this year? Hard luck, I’m not giving the game away!

It is worth pointing out that this is always a very popular night so reserving tickets may be a good idea. You can do this either by dropping me an Email or buying them any Friday night at The Woodman. The tickets are priced at £7.00 and this includes your food.

PLEASE NOTE.

Because there is so much to cram in, the evening will start at 8.15pm.

Very many thanks for your support.

See you soon,

Trevor
