Hi Folks

Well hello again folkers! Its official, the festival season is about to begin for another year but if you’re not venturing out with your rucksack, tent and pegs just yet, the Woodman has another month of marvelous music, merrymaking and mirth to present to you, beginning with…….

…..Friday 4th May, which is another of our marvelous Singers Nights. You know the rules so make sure that you get there early to book your spot as Singers' Nights are very popular and slots are limited However, to be sure, it would be best to book a spot in advance by contacting Debby & Derry either by phone or email - contact details are on the home page.

Please note that if you have pre-booked a spot you need to be at the club before 8:30 to confirm, or the slot may be re-allocated.

Then on Friday the 11th we are delighted to be presenting a wonderful new act for the club, namely The Dan Walsh Trio. Dan is of course no stranger to the club, in fact he was only with us last October as a solo artist, but he has now teamed up with two other stellar musicians namely Ciaran Algar on fiddle and mandolin wizard Nic Zuppardi. This should be a mega-tastic night so be sure not to miss it!!

The 18th brings us to yet another new act for the club although many of you may have seen him at festivals in the past. I speak of course of Enda Kenny. Enda has been around the folk scene for a long time. Irish born but a resident of Australia since the 1980’s and although he has previously appeared over here, and even in this region, he has somehow escaped the clutches of the Woodman……until now! After being semi-pro for many years he decided to take the plunge of being a full time performer in 2013. He is a multi-award winning singer/songwriter with a quirky sense of humour and an impressive catalogue of songs and we take great delight in welcoming him to the club.

The 25th will be yet another of our marvelous Singers Nights. Two in one month….we do spoil you lot! Anyway you know the rules so make sure that you get there early to book your spot as Singers' Nights are very popular and slots are limited However, to be sure, it would be best to book a spot in advance by contacting Debby & Derry either by phone or email - contact details are on the home page.

Please note that if you have pre-booked a spot you need to be at the club before 8:30 to confirm, or the slot may be re-allocated.

And that shallot, as they say down the allotment!

Just time to give you an advance warning that the club will be closed the following Friday, the 1st of June but normal service will be resumed on Friday 8th….more of that in the June Newsletter.

Cheers
