(Review taken from Derry's Facebook Post) The Woodman stage was once again graced by the one, the only, the effortlessly charming Bob Wood, who proved yet again that Scottish wit, dazzling guitar craft, and a warm, easy-going presence make for a dangerously brilliant combination. Bob is “a true master of the acoustic craft… armed with guitar tunings so complex they should require a license.” And honestly — that’s exactly how it felt. Exquisite finger‑style playing, beautifully judged interpretations, and humour so natural you forget how quickly the evening is flying by. A massive shout‑out to Lintel (John & Carol Hoare), who opened the night with their usual class, warmth, and beautifully crafted songs. They are indeed “the folkie fantastic duo… We heard some exceptional original songs and some well‑chosen classics.” Spot on. They set the tone perfectly — thoughtful, tuneful, and full of heart. Their performances are always “sung, and delivered with great care and awesome talent,” and last Friday was no exception. MC Bryn, AKA Bryn Phillips, guided us skilfully through the timings and the rhyming’s, calling upon years of enthusiastic MC’ing to keep us all under control! Mr Gary and Mr John B, did a grand job of capturing all things AV. The Techy-up and Techy-down teams were right on the ball as ever. Last, but definitely not least, the marvellous Ashwood Marina staff worked fantastically hard to keep us all fed and watered. They treat us like family and we love them for it. Enjoy Yourself!
