(Review taken from Derry's Facebook Post) We were expecting a rip-roarer of a night last Friday the 20th of March, and we were not disappointed, oh my goodness! Kelly's Heroes were right on form and right up our street. Very nearly every song had the audience clapping, stomping, and singing along. The night was definitely party night, or should I say, the Craic was mighty! If Kelly’s Heroes had a St Patrick’s Night hangover, they certainly did not show it! Inspired song choices coupled with superb musicianship, all lifted on-high by beautifully delivered, authentic vocals, created a magical wave of nostalgia that was impossible to resist. The icing on the cake was the way that Kelly's Heroes punctuated the high-energy, rip-roaring tunes and songs, with precisely placed sombre, contemplative Airs. Kelly's Heroes, masters of their craft on all levels. I’ve only just got my voice back!! To get us all in the mood, and definitely not to be out-shined, our wonderful Woodmanite, Bryn Phillips did us all proud. Plucking songs from his vast wealth of material and belting them out with great skill. Every subject you can think of is covered by at least one of Bryn’s most excellent self-penned works. From topical political statements, blues, historical stories, to humorous encounters with disruptive shoppers and off-world Aliens! Brilliant Bryn! Thanks to MC Chris, who’s brainy and zany tactics, illuminated the entire room, (or was that all those LED lights)? Thanks to Mr Gary and Mr John for looking through their artistic lenses. Thanks to the Techy-up and Techy-down teams, and last but not least, a huge thanks to the Ashwood Marina staff and friends for making everyone so welcome. It was all just so good! Enjoy Yourself!
