Black Country born and bred, Rob first picked up a guitar at the age of nine and hasn’t put one down since. Early influences were the Spinners and Jake Thackray on TV. This led to other artists such as Jacqui and Bridie, Harvey Andrews, Ralph McTell and many others. He played around folk clubs in the early 1970’s for a while until family and a career in engineering limited any musical activities to singing to his children and occasional charity events.

About 10 years ago, reduced work pressures and then retirement led to Rob rediscovering the joy of performing and he is now a regular performer at several clubs including the Woodman. Whilst he would never describe himself as a songwriter, he has written a handful of songs and continues to write.
