HAPPY NEW YEAR TO YOU ALL |
|
Hi Folks, Just
thought we would drop you a line to let you know what is happening at
your Folk Club in the New Year. The
New Year is a very significant one for the club as it marks our 35th
Anniversary. The fact that the club has been running for so long is not
only a great tribute to Mick who started the club and Ian who has
carried on the good work but also to you, the members.
To you all we say a very big thank you! The
New Year starts with a Singers Night on the 6th
January and gathers pace with the first appearance at the club of George
Papavgeris on the 13th January. George may be a
new name to some of you but he is carving out a reputation as a
songwriter of the highest calibre. Another Singers Night on 20th
January paves the way for the welcome return, on 27th
January of Jez Lowe. The
17th February is our Birthday Party and sees
the immense talent that is Bill Caddick.
Bill needs very little introduction and has been a fairly
consistent visitor to the club over the past 35 years and we could get
no one better to help us celebrate. There may also be a few surprises on
this date too….! Our
month long celebrations end on the 24th February with
a visit from Bob Fox, one of the most respected artists on the
folk scene today. We look forward to seeing you soon and please do tell your friends about us too. Trev Durden
