Hi Folks

Well, February comes in on a high note indeed. Chris While and Julie Matthews start the ball rolling for our 40th anniversary on the 4th. Chris and Julie are one of the top acts on the Folk Scene so expect the venue to be packed. We do have some of the original audience still attending the club! Luckily, I think they may have missed a few years in between and so don’t look 40 years older.

The next week, 11th February, will be a Special Singer’s Night (Past and Present). Ian is keeping the line up close to his chest, but expect to be entertained both musically and humorously! We will be dedicating the evening to Trevor Durden who, although no longer with us, will be remembered both as a founder member of the club and in the music he played with Nothing To Prove.

Then on the 18th, Strangeworld, brainchild of Shave the Monkey musician, Bryan Causton, They have a unique combination of instruments and styles, to produce some wonderful music that is both stimulating and addictive. If you haven’t seen them before, come along to experience some ……….. music.

And, finally on the 25th a Singer’s Night, when you will see some of the best folk and acoustic acts in the West Midlands, all at a very reasonable price. This coupled with the Murphy’s, Enville and Banks’s beers served by our excellent barmaid, Pat, makes for an excellent evening.

Then on 4th March - a trailer for next month - we have a new Group to the Club, Ghost Trains, who were declared, 'the highlight of the festival' at The Acoustic Festival of Great Britain in summer 2010.

Keep smiling, keep singing.

See you at the club,

Pete
