Hi Folks, Kicking off May on the 3rd we’ve got Singers’ Night. As the regulars know this is an opportunity to flex your vocal chords to a select group of similar minded musicians so come along and have a go or just listen to some superb music. The following week on 10th it’s QuickSilver. It’s just the two of them; Hilary and Grant. Hilary first sang with Grant in 2001, an instant rapport was formed. Now they are QuickSilver; you will be delighted with their magical mix of musicianship, humour and harmony. A comfortable favourite at the club with lots of support, get here early! On the 17th Helen Turner and Sharon Winfield as Union Jill will be singing for us. They share a love of folk and acoustic music. Both have distinctive song writing styles achieving some spellbinding effects with their voices and instruments. They enjoy using their music to tell stories – with banter you only get from two women sharing a stage. Look forward to an entertaining night. The 24th brings Dan Walsh. Touted as the finest banjo player in the UK as well as being a superb singer, songwriter and guitarist, Dan is described as 'the real deal' (Uncut) and 'taking the banjo into the stratosphere' (Froots). He has a unique and eclectic style taking in folk, funk, bluegrass, jazz, and rock. Dan has recently paid a flying visit to the club and made such an impression that he was a must to book! Finally for May on the 31st come along and enjoy another Singers’ Night. Your trailer for June Kieran Halpin. Take care, Keep singing, Pete |
