(Newsletter sent out on Feb 7th)

Well, I don’t know where to begin! I’m late,…very late,…over a week late and I haven’t even brought a note from me mum!! I confess I had completely forgotten to do the February newsletter until I was reminded at the club last night. However….I believe I have mitigating circumstances. You see, I have now reached that time in my life when, having achieved the requisite vintage and become a fully qualified old fa…err…senior citizen, I am officially allowed to forget stuff, and frequently do! As my old school reports used to say ‘Must try harder’. Anyway, what does this month have in store for us…….?

Friday the 6th opens the year with another of our legendary Singers’ Nights. Don’t be disappointed, these singers nights are normally over-subscribed so do please contact Debby or Derry on 01384 560462 to ensure you get a floor spot, we have a maximum of 14 slots. Alternatively just come and enjoy the talent on display. A great night is guaranteed!

Friday 13th re-introduces us all to Jinski a duo from the North East comprising Dave Kennedy and Steve Wegrzynski (best of luck with that Bryn)! Both accomplished guitarists, vocalists and songwriters, they have an impressive pedigree having worked and recorded with many of the best known names on the current folk circuit. Having been almost five years since their last appearance at the Woodman, tonight is long overdue.

Then on the 20th we welcome a new act for us, The Jigantics. First visit to the club from this lively five piece folk/rock band who are guaranteed to get your toes tapping and shakers a’shakin’! The line up is basically guitar, fiddle, bass, mandolin and drums but with the odd variation thrown in just to make it more interesting. Combined with powerful vocals this night will be sure to appeal to the Woodman crowd ......... just don’t expect to be quietly serenaded off to sleep!!

Finally on Friday the 27th we have another of our legendary Singers’ Nights.
