Hi Folkers,
Once again we have an exciting, varied and highly entertaining month in store
for you down at the club, but only three nights this month due to the early
arrival of Easter. So keep your Friday evenings free, gather up your percussion
bits’n bobs and come and join us at the marina for the following shows……..
We start the month on Friday 4th with another of our legendary Singers’ Nights.
Don’t be disappointed, these singers nights are normally over-subscribed so do
please contact Debby or Derry on 01384 560462 to ensure you get a floor spot, we
have a maximum of 14 slots. Alternatively just come and enjoy the talent on
display. A great night is guaranteed!
Then on the 11th we are very pleased to welcome back a fantastic three piece
band who put on a blistering performance at the club on their first appearance
about eighteen months ago, namely Other Roads. Pete Abbott, Gregor Borland and
Dave Walmisley make up this trio who have become one of the premier acts on the
folk circuit today. Dave was one of the members of Risky Business who graced our
stage several times before they decided to call it a day. Regularly to be seen
touring Europe performing at clubs and festivals, and all excellent musicians on
a variety of stringed instruments and with voices that blend in delightful
harmony, we are in for a rousing night of Celtic inspired music and song.
Can you believe it’s been two and a half years since we last welcomed one of our
most popular regular artistes to the club, Mr. Steve Tilston. Well believe it or
not it has but we’ll be remedying that on Friday 18th so don’t miss it whatever
you do!
One of the premier names on the UK folk circuit and an international artiste
too, Steve is a master of his instruments, primarily guitar but with other
stringed variations too, as well as being a marvelous songwriter. He has
released numerous CD’s over a long and illustrious career and we are proud to
welcome him back to the club.
Friday 25th Club closed – GOOD FRIDAY – so see y’all next week
Cheers
Rob
