Well, where did that go then? 2022 is almost over and the new year beckons. We can only hope that in more ways than one, it’s a helluva lot better than the last one was!! We have a packed and exciting programme coming up for the first half of 2023 featuring many of our favourite artists, and to launch the year January will commence with…

…Friday 6th which will be the opening Singers’ Night of the year so as usual get there early to book your spot as Singers' Nights are very popular and slots are limited However, to be sure, it would be best to book a spot in advance by contacting Debby & Derry either by phone or email - contact details are on the home page.
Please note that if you have pre-booked a spot you need to be at the club before 8:00 to confirm, or the slot may be re-allocated

Then the 13th will see our old friend Will Morgan make a welcome return to the Woodman stage. It was October ‘21 that Will last appeared at the club. A leg-end in his own lunchtime is Will, a master of the witty retort and comic song and a wonderful interpreter of the Jake Thakray catalogue most of which are funny lyrically anyway, but Will has the ability to add his own touch and his anecdotes just increase the hilarity. One of the organising team and resident performers at Brewood Folk Club, Will also performs traditional songs, monologues and tall stories all of which adds up to a great evening from a great entertainer.

On the 20th we will be presenting another of our favourite Woodman regulars namely The John Richards Band. It’s been just a year since they last appeared with us and we welcome them back with open arms. These days John’s band is a bit of a moveable feast in that you never know quite what/who you will get! He has scaled down operations from his regular band gigging days however tonight we are likely to be entertained by John, Emma Jones, Jim Sutton and either Emily Sanders or Julia Disney. We shall just have to wait and see! John always puts on a good show in whatever guise so be sure to catch this one, it’ll be worth it! The band will also have a brand new CD which should be available to download. You will be able to get all of the details from John.

Then finally for January, on the 27th we will be featuring another old favourite and club regular Mr. Pete Kelly. As I’ve said before, you all know Pete, everybody knows Pete, he’s world famous from Tipton to Arizona and he might even bring along his pony, (although possibly not after the, erm…..unfortunate accident last time)! Pete has been delighting audiences both at the club, in other local venues and indeed further afield for many years now with his relaxed, easy style and long may he continue. A superb guitarist, a gifted songwriter, a friend and a long-time supporter of the club and all-round good egg. Welcome back Pete!

And that, my friends, concludes the line up for our opening month of 2023 and pretty impressive it is too!

Cheers, and look after yourselves.

Rob xx
